TRAC Builders has been busy at work with the 3.2 million dollar renovation of the former Main Street School building located in Warren RI into Hope and Main, Rhode Island’s first full service culinary incubator.
The 17,500 square ft. renovation will include three code-compliant shared use commercial kitchens, including a gluten free kitchen, over 6000 square feet of production space, cold and dry storage, and a range of commercial equipment to support small scale operations for baking, food processing and catering. In addition there will also be a demonstration kitchen and classroom for education and training related to food preparation, cooking and nutrition, and a 2,000 square foot community room for events and seminars.
A culinary incubator must comply with the same requirements as any food processing plant might. This is where TRAC Builders’ expertise has helped play a vital role at Hope & Main with our experience in the food industry helping clients like Wildflour Bakery, Local 121, and Robert’s Precut Vegetable plant. Understanding the food safety requirements, refrigerated temperature control zones, as well as process flow analysis and integrated mechanical systems to make a facility USDA / RIDOH compliant has been an added value to the Hope & Main projects’ success.
