TRAC Builders partnered with AS220 to restore and adapt the historic Hotel Dreyfus in downtown Providence, RI. This ambitious undertaking involved the complete renovation of a four-story, 23,650-square-foot structure dating back to the 1890s. The revitalized layout created 14 residential artist studios on the upper two floors and 10 work studios on the second floor, fostering both living and creative space for the arts community. The ground level was reimagined as a welcoming public hub, featuring a dining room and pub as focal points of a detailed preservation effort. Special attention was given to preserving period details, including original woodwork and masonry, while blending them seamlessly with new construction to enhance functionality and efficiency.
