TRAC Builders served as the General Contractor for the comprehensive building envelope restoration at the Brighton Division of the Boston Municipal Courthouse – a distinguished structure built between 1880 and 1920. TRAC led extensive envelope work including repairs to masonry, roofing transitions, and weatherproofing all facets of the building’s exterior. The meticulous renovation respected historic materials and design – ensuring new elements blended seamlessly and enhanced the courthouse’s long-term resilience. The centerpiece of this work was the renewal of the monumental bronze-clad entrance doors, which stand three sets of 12-foot-tall Kalamein panels. These doors had deteriorated considerably over time, and TRAC coordinated the precise removal, resizing, and reinstallation of faithfully replicated panels with Heather & Little, using Muntz metal to match the original alloys and intricate millwork. TRAC is proud to have revitalized this civic landmark through a blend of precision trade coordination and preservation expertise, safeguarding its presence in Boston’s municipal fabric for years to come.
