TRAC Builders was selected to lead the construction of Lifespan’s state-of-the-art Hybrid Operating Room at Rhode Island Hospital, a facility designed to merge advanced imaging capabilities with a fully functional surgical environment. This specialized space enables highly complex cardiac and vascular procedures, including TAVR, to be performed without transferring patients between surgical and imaging areas, improving efficiency and patient safety. Key work included lead-lined wall and ceiling assemblies for radiation protection, structural steel supports for heavy imaging equipment, new clean air plenums to meet strict infection control standards, and comprehensive MEP rough-ins. TRAC also oversaw the integration of complex medical gas systems, upgraded electrical service, and installation of specialized lighting and AV controls, all sequenced to avoid disruption of ongoing hospital operations.
