BOSTON LOGAN AIRPORT AUTHORITY-WIDE ESCALATOR MODERNIZATION

LOCATION: Boston Logan International Airport | Boston, MA

OWNER: Massachusetts Port Authority

ARCHITECT: Kleinfelder

TRAC Builders is serving as the general contractor for the multi-year modernization of critical escalator systems across Boston Logan International Airport. The new state-of-the-art systems will reduce outages as well as enhance accessibility and customer experience. Given the airport’s status as one of the busiest in the country, daily management of complex logistics, containment, and safety protocols are necessary to eliminate passenger disruption during construction. We are working closely with the Massachusetts Port Authority and our escalator partner, KONE America, to sequence work and meet strict operational and security requirements. This includes building temporary access routes, coordinating work during off-peak hours, and ensuring all phases comply with aviation safety regulations.
