TRAC Builders served as the general contractor for an addition to the Vedanta Society Chapel at 227 Angell Street, delivering a contemporary expansion to the original 1890’s structure that blends seamlessly with the College Hill neighborhood. The project included both interior and exterior structural work to create worship and gathering space tailored to the Society’s needs. Attention was given to light, material quality, and preserving the neighborhood scale while enabling accessible, program-ready design. A key sustainability feature of the addition is a green roof system which, along with a dry well and a bioretention area, helps mitigate nearly half of stormwater runoff and enhances energy efficiency.
