NOW OPEN, AND SERVING STUDENTS

URI BUTTERFIELD DINING HALL

Butterfield Dining Hall is one of two main dining centers at URI.
Built in 1950. Renovated by TRAC in 2015. Now better than ever.
(And not to mention LEED Silver certified).

EXPLORE NOW

TRAC was proactive in suggesting alternate approaches to work toward achieving our goals. I am looking forward to TRAC continuing to work on other construction projects at URI.

Enhancing the Campus Experience

Meticulous attention to even the smallest details can produce a seamless experience, no matter the environment. The same holds true for college campuses. Facilities need to be built with an emphasis on accessibility, practicality, and sustainability.

A Tall Order

The University of Rhode Island Kingston Campus decided to completely gut and renovate and add to the existing Butterfield Dining Hall. A motivation behind the project was to align the old Butterfield Dining Hall with the newer Hope Dining Hall in terms of both student appeal and capacity. This project was designed by Vision 3 Architects and built by TRAC.

Making Room for More

The combined space included the dining room and servery on the main level and a student lounge on the upper level leading to an outdoor roof deck space. The enlarged, updated dining hall with 560 seats and a lounge space for academic and social activities re-opened in time for the start of the Fall 2015 semester.
